GET THE PERFECT OFFICE SPACE

14.10.13

Hola!
..................................................................................................................................
Hello! I'm Elena, the girl behind facing north with gracia, a blog about interiors, design, DIYs and tiny bits of my life. I'm thrilled to guest post here on Carol's blog as I truly love
it: Carol and I share a great passion for essential pieces and spaces, especially the Scandinavian ones.
I thought to share with you today some pictures from our workspace at home. As you can see, the studio is kept minimal and functional as I feel I can concentrate better in an well organized space. Atmosphere is also an important part of home offices and tools and greenery can help a lot to create the right one: opting for few design pieces mixed together with handmade objects can help to create a functional – yet stylish – place to work. You can also add some greenery here and there to give a final touch (Playtype mugs turned out to be great pots for my ferns!).
Here it is a selected list of great pieces I cannot wait to add.

my blog  or check my Instagram account - I hope to see you there!

Take care, lots of kisses from Barcelona!

WHITE MOOD BOARD

11.10.13

Hi There, I'm Sarah from the CocoLapine blog and today I would like to share you a moodboard of whites with you. When Carol approached me about writing a guest post on her lovely blog, I had thought about making a Fall mood board. She pointed out however that there is no Fall in Costa Rica… Then I started thinking about whites and how much they can be used in all seasons. It's the colour of a bright summer dress, but also of a full snow carpet…a very versatile color, suitable for every mood and situation.

SCANDINAVIAN LIVING ROOM

Hi, OH Yei! readers. I'm Kelly from Tiny Wild Things and I'm excited to be here to share with you an inspiration board I put together for my living room. I recently moved to San Francisco and wanted to create a Scandinavian-inspired space that used warm tones, soft textures and clean lines. I hope this inspires you too!

KEEPING IT WHITE

7.10.13

Hello, I am Maria, an architect by day and an illustrator by night, blogging at FloorNumber Four where I also have my online shop. I met Carol (online) a few months back, we both share the same passion for interiors, monochrome and clean minimal designs so I am very happy to be filling in for her today while she is away on a fab holiday!

Currently I live in the southwest of green and rainy Ireland with my husband, and we are planning a move into a new home soon, which I am very exited about! So as it happens being the interior/design geek I am, plus due to our coming up move-out/move-in situation, I have spent a tremendous amount of time searching for interiors I like with the feeling of home I am going for. I am sharing a piece of my mind here today, as you can see there is a lot of white involved! I like white interiors because I like to see change in my home every so often, a bit like nature that is changing every season I like my home to be able to do the same; and against white that is so neutral a change in the colour of small details can bring a totally different feel! I also like to see some wood in a home, I think it softens the harshness of the flat white surfaces and makes the space less serious and more relaxed!

I hope you’ll find my ideas inspiring, have a lovely day everyone and thanks for having me chit-chatting on your blog today Carol!

THIS FALL GOES GREEN

4.10.13

Hi everyone! While Carol is on vacation, I'm honored to write you a guest post from Norway. My name is Jorid, and I write the interiorblog noepahjertet.com, about scandinavian design, and everything I love about interior.

This fall we see beautiful photos of lots of green plants in the interior. I love how the green makes everything shine, and it's really refreshing. I don't have many green plants, but I'm going to get someone big and someone small. I love how the photos get a fresh look, and I've seen it everywhere, from the big design houses and in other blogs.

So everyone, go green this fall! I hope you're having a great time.

Lots of love from Norway, Jorid Kvam - noepahjertet.com
