LOVE POP-UP SHOP & DAYS LATELY

Muy feliz de contarles que este mes ha sido muy productivo, me he organizado y dado tiempo para todo y tengo listo un pop-up shop para esta temporada del amor de manera virtual. Aunque unos productos nuevos no he podido tenerlos, seguro este finde los produzco para poder surtir la tienda virtual así como los 2 puntos de venta que está la marca. Por ahora las producciones son cortas pero espero poder ampliar los distribuidores para hacerlas más grande. Empecé a hacer listas to-do semanales con diagramas lindos para estar más inspirada. Siempre mis libretas están vacías por qué son demasiado lindas, pero ya empecé a usarlas, tengo muchas, soy adicta a tener todo separado. La libreta de estrategias, otra de ideas generales y las de dibujo de productos así como la de diagramas semanales que intentaré hoy en adelante llegar a tenerlas como bullet journal. Espero algún día me queden lindas y se las comparto. He intentado acomodarme y trabajar unas cuantas horas en la noche y cuando duerme siesta E. Y realmente al diagramar de forma ordenada e inspiradora la semana y ser realista con pocos pendientes se siente un alivio muy grande y se trabaja de mejor manera. Espero contarles más de mis días pero una bebe no tan bebe tiene toda mi atención. Como se organizan ustedes? Tiene un método? Me encantaría saberlos, cuéntenme en los comentarios o escríbanme un correin. No suelten sus ideas, metas e intenciones. Nos leemos.

So happy to tell that this month has been productive, i have manage to get organize to make time for few things and to get done a virtual pop-up shop for this love season. Even if i could not finish some new products, I'm sure this weekend will get to it so i can add them to this e-shop and the other two POP that the brand is sold. By the moment productions are small but wishing to enlarge more vendors to get a bigger one. I started to make to-do list weekly with cute diagrams to get more inspire. Always all my notebooks where empty because they where too pretty to use them, but i started to write in them, i have a lot, I'm an addict to have all separate. A notebook for strategies, some other for general ideas, the product drawings and the bullet journal I'm trying to use it weekly, hope to manage this technique so i can share them. I have try to arrange work time at nights and when E. is getting her nap. And really by doing pretty to do-list like bullet journal it gets me more inspire seeing things organize. Im really realistic and put small duties per day and it feels less overwhelm and get things done in a better way. I hope i can write more about my days but a baby not so baby anymore has all my attention. How do you get organize? Do you have a method? ORGANIZATION FOR MOTIVATION

Soy de las que creo que la organización mantienen el orden. Y este año quiero comenzar con esta buena motivación, tener todo en su lugar para dar espacio a las ideas. No he tenido tiempo de darle un realce al área más importante de la casa para los pequeñoos proyectos. Aunque sea sólo una esquina de trabajo, no tienen por que ser desordenada, todo en su lugar para que el espacio luzca más amplio. Aquí les dejo algunos tips para mantenerse en orden y estar muy motivados a los proyectos.

Im a believer that organization maintains order. And this year i want to start with this good motivation, to have everything in its place to make space for ideas. I havent had time to make a lift over to this area that is so important in the house for little projects. Just because its a small corner, dosnt mean it has to be a mess, everything in its plays will make it look bigger. Im leaving some tips i consider can make this effect to organize spaces and be motivated to new projects.

Hola a todos por acá! Estos días ausentes han sido productivos, preparando los productos para las tiendas distribuidoras nacionales. Mi tienda internacional va siendo actualizada poco a poco. Espero les guste estas nuevas colillas para decorar sus lindos regalos esta temporada. Y que se estén preparando para las fiestas próximas. Espero poder decorar un poco con el poco tiempo que me quede. Hasta nuevas noticias amigos.

THIS DAYS

Los días por aca van lentos, comiendo bien para tener energía, pero aún así me canso, ayer trabajando, ciertas posiciones no las aguanto todo el día, en fin trabajo en lo que puedo. En este momento estoy produciendo pequeños detalles para esta tan cerca temporada, además de preparar la presentación de modelo de negocio en la cual quede, y no les he contado, como finalistas para disputar premios en Yo Emprendedor Costa Ric, participando con mi marca. Es emocionante pero ciertos nervios se asoman. En fin, la casa esta llena de papel, y entre cosas que hacer del hogar y descansar entre actividades, se me va todo el día, y el blog un poco olvidado, pero quería compartirles un poco en lo que andamos, bebé y yo. Como son sus días?

Days over here are slow, eating well to have lots of energy, but still i get tire, yesterday, some poses wile working where not comfortable for all day, but i still work in what i can. In this moment im producing little details for this so near season, and in addition preparing my presentation of my business model in which i got, that i havent mention to you readers, like final among others to dispute prices in MeEntrepreneur Costa Rica, i participated with my brand. Its exciting but at the same time some nerves on edge. Anyway, home is full of paper at this moment, and as well as home duties and resting between activities all my day goes away quick, and this blog is forgotten some times, but i wanted to share a little of our days (me and baby). How are your days?

FOCUS

Recuerdan que les hable que tenía planes de enfoque, estuve trabajando en pulir mi marca. Cualquier marca con un plazo de dos años como OH yei!® cumplirá estará pensando en expandirse, yo pensé en acomodar todo en su lugar primero antes de dar otro gran paso. Claro ya tengo en proceso una nueva colección y productos que vienen para la temporada navideña, pero sabía que tenía que trabajar en varios detalles de la marca antes de pasar a ese proceso.

Estas pasadas semanas ademas de lo habitual, empacar para los distribuidores, planear las temporadas, tomar fotos y mantener las redes sociales, estuve trabajando en la imagen de la marca tanto internacional (OY!) como nacional (OH yei!). 

Antes solo usaba letras comunes como firma en algunos productos, pero integre las iniciales con la tipografía del logotipo actual en el caso del logo internacional OY! como monograma y la misma tipografía como firma en los productos OH yei!. La línea internacional será manejada con iniciales para ser más fácil de recordar y hacer diferenciación de los productos con slang costarricense. En el caso nacional en algunos detalles se usará dicho logo con iniciales pero acompañado del logotipo vertical o el horizontal en el producto.

OH yei! NACIONAL
En el fanpage trabaje mantener un mood y un branding constante, hice unos machotes para solo dejar caer la foto, teclear la info, y mantener las dimensiones y similitudes en composición. Actualice el monograma a la foto de perfil y utilizaré el slogan cuando sea posible. Además de constancia con este recurso recortare procesos para tener más tiempo para otras cosas importantes. También organice perfectamente las fotos en las carpetas de albums para ser encontradas más fácilmente y mostrar el trabajo realizado como portafolio de servicios y productos ofrecidos. Así como acomodar y mencionar que las redes sociales están disponibles en tabs para no perderse de nada de lo que se hace detrás de cámaras.

INTERNATIONAL OY!
Trabaje en todo el re-branding OY!, desde el sticker para empaque, redes sociales como twitter que esta dirigido a un público internacional. Aún falta integrar la marca al blog, pero si mantuve un look similar y ciertos elementos haciéndolo parte de toda la esencia. Los shops internacionales también fueron trabajados (etsy shop - society6 shop), pero aún faltan muchos detalles. Trabaje también unas postales para agradecer las compras en los envíos. El empaque será retrabajado también.

Todo esto aunque no se vea, es un proceso importante en toda marca. Y eso me dejo poco tiempo para desarrollar la nueva colección internacional que será llamada FUNMINIMAL. Además de no poder actualizar la propuesta de productos para envíos al extranjero en mi etsy shop. Compre una pequeña báscula para tener los pesos de cada producto y poder cotizar los envíos en categorías incluyendo sus empaques. Espero terminar esto pronto que quisiera llevar la marca a más personas y hacer más vidas felices, pero primero tener todo organizado para poder ofrecer lo mejor. Y que cada detalle haga más fuerte la marca.

Espero en próximos meses integrar a alguien que me ayude en procesos como empaque y etiquetado así como producción para poder darle más a este refuerzo de branding .

Do you remember i wrote about plans to focus, ive been working on polish my brand. Any brand with 2 years like OY! is turning would have thought in expanding, i thought in putting things in place before giving another step forward. Obviously i already have next collection designed and ideas for christmas products, but i knew i had to work in some details of branding first.
This past weeks besides the habitual things like packaging for retailers, planning seasons, taking pictures and maintaining social media, i was working in the image of the brand as well as international (OY!) and national (OH yei!).

Back then i just use common letters to brand and sign goods, but i integrated the initials with the same font of the logotype in the international case like a monogram OY! and the same thing but in the whole name of the brand for national signature OH yei!. In national collections the initials will be use to make it faster to remember and make a differentiation from slang costa rican products. In the case of national branding in some details the OY! monogram will be use but always accompanied with the vertical or horizontal logotype.

NATIONAL OH yei!
I work on the fanpage to maintain a mood and a constant branding, i made some layouts to just  drop pictures, type info, to keep same proportions and similiraty in composition. I updated the monogram in the profile picture and I'm using the slogan whenever is possible. Beside constancy with this resource i cut off process to have more time for other important things. I also perfectly organize all the photos in the actual albums so they could be find easily and show all work made like a service and product portfolio provided. I also organize and mention the tabs for social media so nobody misses al that happens behind scenes.

INTERNATIONAL OY!
I work in re-brand, from the package tag sticker and social media. I still have to add the brand to the blog, but i maintained the essence with elements and style. The shops where also worked (etsy shop - society6 shop), but there are still so much details to work on. I made some post cards to thanks all the purchases. And the package needs to be work too soon.

All this, even if nobody notices it, its an important process in a brand. And that left me little time to work and develop the new collection called FUNMINIMAL. And also to grow the proposal of products of the international etsy shop. I bought a weighing scale to calculate all the shipping in products and could have in categories the cost including packages. I wish i could finish this soon because i want to expand the brand internationally and make more people happy, but i first have to organize all this to offer the best. So every detail makes stronger the brand.

I hope in a couple of months i could integrate someone to help me in duties like packaging, labeling and producing so i can have more time to focus on branding.

PAPER ART AT THE STUDIO

De los momentos que más me gustan son los que paso en el estudio, cuando creo, diseño y produzco cosas para hacer los días felices a los demás. En este espacio me inspiro y creo todo. El papel es una de mis pasiones y estoy por crear una linea de accesorios para regalos y también ofrecer detalles para otras marcas, creadas con mi maquina de corte la cual me permite traer las realidades en producciones más amplias. Les dejo unas plumas en las cuales trabaje para un patrocinio (las cuales fueron cortadas por esta maquina, pero el efecto fue cortado a mano). Los días pasan lentos pero intento aprovechar el máximo dentro de mis capacidades. Esperemos el team crezca próximamente. Espero que su domingo sea muy creativo.

The moments that i most enjoy are when im at the studio, when i create, design and make things to make other peoples life more happier. In this little corner i get inspire and create everything. Paper is one of my passions and im working to create a new line of stationery accessories for gifts and also offer to other creative and brand owners, made by my cutting machine that allows me to make reality all my ideas to a more widen output. Feliz viernes a todos los que leen el blog! Estas semanas han sido muy duras, preparando la temporada navideña para ferias y distribuidores, estar presente en redes sociales y mantener un hogar. Uff! Les muestro detalles de lo que es el mini estudio y el hogar estos días. Lo mejor, que hago lo que me gusta. Buen fin de semana.

POSITIVE PRINTS

Que gran lunes! Hemos estado pensando en nuevas frases positivas, tanto para el mercado nacional como ahora para el internacional. OY! pretende hacer sonreír y siempre con un fin positivo. Pero nos hemos topado que utilizar frases comunes pueden llevar a similitudes con otros diseñadores; un ejemplo es el print de sos como la mantequilla en mi tostada. (palabra tica para referirse al pan de barra) Juntos mejor. Palabra muy utilizada en ingles (You are the butter to my bread de Julie & Julia) y que hemos visto unos prints utilizando esta frase. Aunque nosotros le damos la vuelta transformando palabras comunes cambiandole algun contexto o añadiendo algo extra, nos seguiremos topando con este tipo de cosas, por lo que seguiremos transformando las frases con un estilo OY! para no caer en similitudes. What a great monday! We have been lately thinking of new positive words, for national and international shop. OY! pretends to make people smile with a positive purpose. But we came across that using common phrases can take to similarities with other designers; an example is the OY! print: you are like the butter in my bread (in costa rican terms). Better together. This is a common phrase in english use by Julie & Julia, and we have seen some prints using this too. Even if we make a change of context of common words and using them differently or adding something different, we will still bump with this kind of things, so we are going to try change more the concepts to an OY! style so we dont have this likeness.

GET THE PERFECT OFFICE SPACE

Hola! Soy Elena, la chica detrás de facing north with gracia, un blog que habla de interiores, diseño, DIYs and también un poco de mi vida. Estoy súper feliz de poder escribir en el blog de Carol porque simplemente lo adoro: Carol y yo compartimos una pasión enorme para piezas y espacios esenciales, especialmente los que tienen un toque escandinavo.

Hoy he pensado compartir con vosotros algunas fotos de la oficina que tenemos en casa: el estudio es concebido come un espacio minimal y funcional porque me eso me ayuda a concentrarme mejor. El atmósfera es otra parte importante de los home offices y la elección de objetos y plantas puede ayudar mucho en ese sentido: mi consejo es optar por algunas piezas de diseño y mixarla con objetos hecho a mano. He adjuntado my lista personal de piezas que me encantaría añadir, como podéis ver. También las plantas pueden ayudar a dar el toque final a la habitación (las taza de Playtype se han convertido en macetas perfectas para mi plantitas!).

it: Carol and I share a great passion for essential pieces and spaces, especially the Scandinavian ones.

I thought to share with you today some pictures from our workspace at home. As you can see, the studio is kept minimal and functional as I feel I can concentrate better in an well organized space. Atmosphere is also an important part of home offices and tools and greenery can help a lot to create the right one: opting for few design pieces mixed together with handmade objects can help to create a functional – yet stylish – place to work. You can also add some greenery here and there to give a final touch (Playtype mugs turned out to be great pots for my ferns!).

ETSY SHOP UPDATE

El día de hoy amanecí actualizando el etsy shop, algunos prints para cuartos de niños y unas aves geométricas. Estará abierta la tienda en línea, por una semana, ya que permanecerá cerrada por vacaciones hasta nuevo aviso. Buen inicio de semana.

Today i begin the day updating etsy shop, some prints for kids room and some geometric birds. It will be open one week, because im going on vacation till news. Good start of week.

AWAY

Hola a todos familia blogger. Estuve ausente un poco, pero fue por que estuve trabajando mucho. Les muestro unas flores de papel que realice, para un patrocinio a un grupo de gipsy folk costarricense llamado Passiflora, fueron 100 flores pequeñas para usarse en su evento en las manos del publico. También realice estas flores después en grande para otro evento, solicitado por Ensy Martin para la artista guatemalteca Gaby Moreno en Jazz Café Escazu. Además realice un taller para hacer flores de papel metálicas para regalo del día de las madres aquí en Costa Rica y participe en la feria del libro Costa Rica. Estoy muy cansada pero contenta. Me gusta disfrutar lo que hago. Buena semana!

Hi to all the blogger family. I was away a wile, but it was because i was working a lot. Let me show you some paper flowers i did, for a sponsorship to a gipsy folk costarican band call Passiflora, they were 100 little flowers to use in the wrist of the public. Also i made this big flowers for another event for Ensy Martin for the guatemalan artist Gaby Moreno in Jazz Café Escazu. I also made a workshop to make metallic paper flowers for mothers day here in Costa Rica and participated in Costa Rican Bookfair. Im so tired but happy. I like to enjoy what i do. Good week!

Estoy emocionada, tuve mi primera compra por Etsy, la segunda venta internacional. Espero hacer sonreír a esas lindas personas, nunca imagine mandar un producto a Serbia y Dinamarca. Es un sentimiento tan bonito, saber que alguien de muy lejos le guste lo que he creado con tanto amor. Si no has visto mi producto para venta worldwide, date una vuelta por Etsy y society6.
